Sim Earich

Coached track at Pomeroy, Struthers, Warren Harding, Cortland, and Southington. Was an officaal for 44 years. Officiated the State Track and Cross Country meet s for many years. OATC president. Was a successful track athlete at Ohio University. Meet Manager. Ed Barker Award.

Norman Brown (1971)
Norman Brown

Coached cross country at Lakewood High School from 1947 through 1967. Won one State High School Cross Country meet and was runnerup twice. Took his teams to the State Meet 15 times. Won ten league and six district cross country meets. Coached two individual State High School Cross Country Meet champions. Assistant track coach.

Fred Cope (1971)
Fred Cope

Coached track at Bucyrus from 1930 through 1932. Coached track at Salem from 1934 through 1941 and 1944 through 1947. Coached cross country at Salem from 1938 through and 1944 and 1945. Won nine league track meets. Ran for Salem High School and Mt. Union college. Won two Ohio Athletic Conference events and set one Ohio College outdoor record.Coached one individual State High School Cross Country champions. Offical. Has been a district meet manager in track for 53 years. OATC president. Ed Barker Award.

Glenn Davis (1971)
Glenn Davis

Sprinted, hurdled, and jumped for Marietta High School, Barberton High School, and Ohio State University. Won two Olympic 400 hurdle races and ran on an Olympic winning 4 X 400 meter relay. Set six outdoor world records. Won three AAU 400 hurdle races and scored in another. Won one NCAA 440 and scored in one 400 hurdles. Won eight Big Ten championships. Set five Ohio college indoor records and 16 outdoor Ohio college records. Coached track and cross country at Cornell University from 1962 through 1967. Coached track at Barberton High School from 1968 through 1981 and again in 1987.Has won four conference meets at Barberton. Member of National Track Hall of Fame. Won three events in state track meet to win the team championship. Sullivan Award. Set one state high school record.

Harrison Dillard (1971)
Harrison Dillard

Hurdled and sprinted for Cleveland East Tech High school and Baldwin Wallace College. Won four Olympic gold medals, two 4 X 100 relays, one 100 meters, and one high hurdles. Set/tied 14 indoor world records and four outdoor records. Won five AAU hurdles outdoor, and scored in two others. Won eight AAU indoor hurdle events. Won four NCAA hurdle titles outdoors. Won two events in the state high school track meet. Set two Ohio Athletic Conference events. Member of the National Hall of Fame. Had an 82 sprint/hudle win streak. Sullivan Award winner 1955.

Jack Keller (1971)
Jack Keller

Hurdled for Columbus East High School and Ohio State University. Set three world records in outdoor high hurdles. Placed fourth in the 1932 Olympic high hurdles. Won one national AAU high hurdles and three NCAA hurdle races. Won five Big Ten events. Won both hurdle events in the 1929 Chicago National High School Track Meet. Set one national high school record. Won four hurdle events in the state high school track meet. Set three Ohio college indoor and 12 Ohio outdoor records. Set four Ohio high school state records.

Norman "Doc" Kusel (1971)
Norman Kusel

Coached track at Plainville-Mariemont High School from 1939 through 1967. Won one State High School Track championship and was runnerup three times. Won 19 league and four district track meets. Coached ten individual State High School Track Meets winners.

Won 391 dual/tri track meets. Was a meet manager and official.

Dave Mills (1971)
Dave Mills

Ran for Lakewood High School and Purdue University. Set the national high school record in the 440 and won two other events in that same state meet. Won two other state meet 440's. Set the two other state high school 440 records. Set one indoor state high school record. Set the American indoor 440 record while at Purdue. Won thre Big Ten events. Scored in one outdoor NCAA 400 and two national AAU outdoor 400's. Was varsity assistant track coach for four years at Vandalia-Butler and has been junior high track coach in Kettering from 1972 to the present.

Alfred "Doc" C. Milner (1971)
Alfred Milner

Coached track at St. Bernard from 1923 through 1942 and at Mt. Healthy in 1943, 1944 and 1945. Won eight league championships. Coached two individual State High School Track Meet champions. Was an official for 42 years. Assigned the officials to the State Track Meet for 16 years. Ed Barker Award. Meet Manager.

Bob Schull (1971)
Bob Schull

Ran for west Milton High School and Miami University. Won the 1964 Olympic 5000 meter run. Set the world record in the 2 mile run. Set three other American records. Won two national AAU outdoor events and scored in another. Set one Ohio college indoor record and eight Ohio college outdoor records. Coached cross country at Wright State University for several years and his track club for many years.

George Simpson (1971)
George Simpson

Ran for Columbus East High School and Ohio State University. Set unacceptable world record in the 100 yard dash for using starting blacks. Was second in the 1932 Olympic 200 and 4th in the 100. Won one national AAU outdoor title and scored in three others. Won three NCAA events and scored in three others. Won eight Big Ten titles. Set one national high school record and three state high school records. Won the 100 and 220 in the Chicago Nayional High School Track Meet. won the same events in the Ohio High School State Track Meet. Set 12 Ohio college outdoor and four Ohio college indoor records.

Cy Waffen (1971)
Cy Waffen

Coached at Cleveland West from 1945 through1966. Coached cross country at West from 1945 through 1965. Won one State High School Cross Country title. Won three league and two district cross country meets. Coached six individual State High School Track Met champions and one individual State High School Cross Country Meet winner. Won 230 dual/tri track meets and 193 dual/tru cross country wins. Official.
