Rufus Glass

Coached track and cross country at Eaton and Columbus West from 1943 through 1970. Served at OATCC treasurer. Hall of Fame.

Karl Bauer (1972)
Karl Bauer

Coached cross country at Cleveland West Tech High School from 1944 through 1950 and track and cross country at Cleveland East High School from apprximately 1958 through 1963. Won two state high school cross country championships and one runnerup at West Tech. Won three conference and four district cross country meets while at West Tech.

Robert Cochran (1972)
Robert Cochran

Coached track at Uniontown Lake High School 1951 through 1971. Won two district and nine league championships. Coached two individual State High School track Meet winners. Won over 200 dual/tri track meets.

Richard Cooley (1972)
Richard Cooley

Coached track at Amherst Steel High School from 1957 through 1982 and cross country from1959 through 1982. His cross country teams won the 1962 and 1977 State Meets and he had one runnerup. Won 11 conference and two district cross country meets and had coached three individual State Cross Country Meet winners. Won 19 conference track meets and coached three individuals who won in the State Track Meet. Official. Meet founder and manager. Ed Barker Award. Ohio Coach of Midwest Meet of Champions. OAT&CCC Boys cross country coach of the year.

Willie Davenport (1972)
Willie Davenport

Hurdled for Warren Howland Township High School and Southern University. Won the high hurdles in the 1968 Olympic Games. Placed third in the 1976 Olympic high hudles, fourth in the 1972 Olympic high hurdles and participated in the 1964 Olympic high hurdles. Set/tied nine indoor world high hurdles records and tied three outdoor high hurdle world records. Won four NAIL high hurdle championships- two indoor and two outdoor. Won four AAC high hurdle races and scored in seven other outdoor. Won five AAC high hurdle indoor races. Member of National Track Hall of Fame. Won one event in the state high school track meet.

Pete Dreher (1972)
Pete Dreher

Coached track at Montpelier High School from 1957 through 1980. Coached two teams that were State Track Meet runnerup. Won 20 league and four district/regional track championships. Won 106 dual/tri track meets. Coached two individual State Track Meet champions. Coached cross country at Montpelier from 1968 through 1972. Official.

Cal Giffin

Coached track at Bellaire High School from 1958 though 1967. Coached cross country at Bellaire from 1962 through 1966. Won five conference and five district track meets. Coached one individual State High School Track Meet champion. Won 58 dual/tri track meets. Official. Meet manager of Bellaire relays. OATC Vice President.

Charles Hofelich (1972)
Charles Hofelich

Coached track at Cleveland East tech in 1937, at Cleveland West tech from 1944 through 1952 and Cleveland Collinwood from 1953 through 1962. Won one State High School Track Meet championship. Won ten league and five district track meets. Coached three State High School Track Meet individuals winners. Official.

Jack Landrum (1972)
Jack Landrum

Coached track at Circleville High School from 1936 through 1938, at Columbus East High School from 1939 through 1951 and at Capital University from 1952 through 1971. Coached cross country at East from 1939 through 1950 and at Capital from 1953 through 1970. Runnerup in the state high school track meet twice. Won three league track titles at East. Won one Ohio Athletic Conference indoor track title at Capital. Won 192 dual/tri track meets. OATC president.

Ralph "Waldo" Ward (1972)

Coached track at Columbiana High School from 1931 through 1972. Won one stae high school track meet. Won 12 district and six league championships. Coached seven individual high school track meet winners. Won 221 dual/tri track meets.

Mark Whitaker (1972)
Mark Whitaker

Coached track at Hamilton Township in 1953, at Columbus East from 1954 through 1962, and at Columbus Brookhaven from 1963 through 1983. Coached cross country at Hamilton Twp. in 1952, at East from 1953 through 1961, and at Brookhaven from 1962 through 1982. Won nine league and eight district meets in track. Won two state high school cross country meet championships. Won eight league and eight district cross country meets. Coached three individual state high school track meet gold medalists. Won over 145 dual/tri track meets. Founded and managed the Bearcat Relays. OATC president. Official
