John Evans

Coached track and cross country at Westerville and Westerville South High Schools. Served as OATC treasurer.

Otis Paul Drayton (1980)
Otis Drayton

Sprinted for Cleveland Cathedral Latin High School and Villanova University. Won an Olympic gold medal for running on a 4x100 relay that won and set a world record. Was second in the 200 in the same Olympics. Ran on another world record 4x100 relay. Won three AAU outdoor 220's and scored in four other sprints. Won two events in the state high school track meet. Set one state high school record.

Dehart Hubbard (1980)
Dehart Hubbard

Sprinted and jumped for Cincinnati Walnut Hills School and the University of Michigan. Won the long jump at the 1924 Olympic Games, and placed third in the 1928 Olympic long jump. Won the long jump in six national AAU outdoor meets and scored in another, and two triple jumps. Won two NCAA outdoor long jump titles and one 100. Won six Big Ten titles. Went to high school when the Cincinnati Board of Education would not allow their student/athletes to travel to Columbus for the state track meet. Member of the National Track and Field Hall of Fame.

Don "Mitch" Mitchell (1980)
Don Mitchell

Coached cross country at Dayton Roosevelt High School from 1958 through 1974 and at Dayton Roth High School from 1975 through 1978. Coached track at Roosevelt from 1969 through 1975 and at Roth from 1976 through 1979. Won two state high school track meets. Won nine league and five district titles in track. Won five league meets and one district meet in cross country. Coached nine individual state high school track meet winners.

Charles Stone (1980)
Charles Stone

Coached track at Strongsville from 1927 through 1935, at Austintown from 1937 through 1943 and at Poland from 1944 through 1966. Won two state high school track meets and was runner-up once. Won 12 conference and six district track meets. Coached three individual state high school track meet winners. Was a very successful javelin thrower while attending Ohio Wesleyan. Won two Ohio Athletic Conference and two Buckeye Conference javelin events. Competed in two U.S. Olympic Trials. Set three Ohio college javelin records. Meet manager.

Gerald Tinker (1980)
Gerald Tinker

Ran for Kent State University. Won an Olympic gold medal by running on the winning 4x100 relay in the 1972 Olympics. Won one indoor NCAA title. Won two Mid American Conference events. Scored in one national AAU outdoor 100 and one NCAA outdoor 100. Set two Ohio college indoor and two college outdoor records.

Malvin "Mal" Whitfield (1980)
Malvin Whitfield

Ran for Ohio State University. Won Three Olympic gold medals- two 800's and one 4x400 relay, and one silver and one bronze medal. Won two NCAA outdoor 880's. Won one national AAU indoor event. Won six national AAU outdoor events and scored in five others. Broke the outdoor world 880 record twice. Won six Big Ten events. Set nine Ohio college outdoor and one Ohio college indoor record. Member of the National Track Hall of Fame. Sullivan Award winner.

William C. Wirick (1980)
William Wirick

Coached track at Toledo Libbey High School from 1953 through 1962. Won all ten conference meets and four district track meets. Coached four individual state high school track meet winners. Won 62 dual/tri meets. Official

Jim Wuske (1980)
Jim Wuske

Coached outdoor track at Mt. Union College from 1957 through 1978, indoor track from 1962 through 1978, and cross country from 1961 through 1977. Won one NCAA cross country championship. Won ten Ohio Athletic Conference outdoor track, nine indoor track, and ten cross country championships. Coached two individual NCAA track meet winners. Won one All-Ohio track meet.
