Mel Brodt (Ed Barker Award - 1982)
Mel Brodt

Coached track and cross country at John Adams High School and Bowling Green State University from 1951 through 1984. Won many championship titles. Coached several All-Americans, NCAA champions, and one Olympic gold medalist. Served as president of OATC and as president of NCAA track and cross country coaches association. Hall of Fame.

John Anderson (1982)
John Anderson

Threw the shot put and discus for Cincinnati Hughes High School and Cornell University. Won the discus in the 1932 Olympics and was fifth in the 1928 Olympic discus. Won one IC4A discus title. Won two national AAU discus titles and scored in three others. Won the shot put and discus in the 1925 state high school meet to lead his team to the championship. Set one Ohio high school discus record.

Jim Dillion (1982)
Jim Dillion

Threw for Harpster High School and Auburn University. Placed third in the 1952 Olympic discus. Won two NCAA discus titles and placed in another. Won one AAU discus event and placed in another. Won one state high school track shot put event. Won several southeastern conference events.

Gilbert Dodds (1982)
Gilbert Dodds

Ran for Ashland College. Won the 1940 NCAA cross country race and scored in another. Set two indoor mile world records. Scored twice in the NCAA outdoor two mile. Won three outdoor AAU 1500's. Set one Ohio college outdoor record. Won the 1943 Sullivan Award. Was the Wheaton College cross country and track coach from the fall of 1945 to the spring of 1959.

William Fetters (1982)
William Fetters

Coached cross country and track at Toledo Woodward from the fall of 1938 through the spring of 1941, at Toledo Waite from the fall of 1941 through the spring of 1953, and at Toledo Scott from the fall of 1953 through the spring of 1957. His 1951 cross country team was runnerup in the state meet. His cross country team won 11 conference and seven district meets. Coached three individual state track meet winners and one indvidual state cross country meet champion. Official.

Robert Harris (1982)
Robert Harris

Coached boys track at Chesapeake from 1964 through 1975 and boys cross country from 1966 through 1974. Won nine conference and two district track meets. Coached three individual state high school track meet champions. Started coaching girls track at Chesapeake in 1981 and girls cross country in 1983 to the present. Has won all seven conference track championships and the only conference cross country meet held. Official. He was Assistant Track Coach many years at Marshall University and Chesapeake.

Paul Keller (1982)
Paul Keller

Coached track at Prospect from 1941 through 1949. Won all nine county league meets. Won one district meet. Had a 49-0 dual/tri meet record. Official

Kenneth Powers (1982)
Kenneth Powers

Ran for Ashley High School and Ohio State University. Won three events in the state high school track meet. Coached track at Reading High School from 1928 through 1956. Coached two individual state high school track meet winners.

William Wilson (1982)
William Wilson

Coached track at Xenia from 1955 through 1979 and cross country from 1954 through 1978. Won five conference and two district cross country meets. Was a successful runner at Greenville High School and Miami University. Founded and managed the Xenia Invitational. Official. Meet Manager.
