Les Eisenhart (Ed Barker Award - 1987)
Les Eisenhart

Coached track and cross country at Port Clinton and Worthington High Schools from 1942 through 1979. Coached many championship teams and individuals during his tenure. Is a noted official. Served as OATC president. Hall of Fame.

Mary Ayers (1987)
Mary Ayers

Hurdled, jumped, and sprinted for Cleveland John Adams High School. Cleveland Recreation Track Club, and prairie View College. Won five national college AIAW events and scored in nine others for a national record at the time. Won two national AAU/TAC events including the 400 hurdles where she set an American and national college record. Scored in two other national 400 hurdles and made the 1977 and made the national team. She showed great versatility by scoring in the 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles, long jump, 4x100 relay, and 4x400 rely in the national meets. Ayers was very successful in high school, setting two Ohio high school state records. Attended high school before the first girls state track meet.

Jim Ehler (1987)
Jim Ehler

Coached cross country and track at West Alexandria Lanier from the fall of 1950 through the spring of 1952. Coached track at Versailles in 1955. Coached track at Kettering Fairmont East from 1963 through 1972. Won five conference track meets. Won 121 dual/tri track meets. Official.

Mylo "Mike" Gerken (1987)
Mylo Gerken

Coached track at Tinora in 1962, 1963, and 1964. Coached track at Ayersville from 1965 through 1983. Coached cross country at Ayersville from 1965 through 1982. Won one state high school cross country meet. Won six conference and three district cross country meets. Coached two state high school cross country meet individual winners. Coached two state high school track meet individual winners. Won 250 dual/tri cross country meets. Has coached cross country at Defiance College since 1985.

Ed Rarey (1987)
Ed Rarey
Has been coaching track at Gahanna Lincoln High School since 1955 and cross country since 1958. Has coached girls track since 1975 and girls cross country since 1978. Won one boys state high school track meet, four district/regionals, and 20 conference meets. Won five conference and one district/regional cross country meet. Coached seven individual boys and three individual girls to wins in the state high school track meet. Founded and managed the Gahanna Relays track meet. Has won 251 dual/tri track meets.

Robert "Bump" Taylor (1987)
Robert Taylor

Coached track at Claeveland Glenville from 1972 through 1981 and Cleveland Lincoln West from 1982 to the present. Coached cross country at Glenville from 1972 through 1980 and at Lincoln West from 1981 to the present. Won three state high school track meet championships. Won four district, three outdoor conference and two indoor conference meets. Coached eight individual state high school track winners. Has won 225 dual/tri track meets. Was a successful sprinter and hurdler at Cleveland John Adams School and Central State University.

Melvin Walker (1987)
Melvin Walker

Jumped for Toledo Libbey High School and Ohio State University. Set the outdoor world high jump record once and the indoor high jump world record once. Won/tied for first in the national AAU high jump five times-two outdoor and three indoors. Tied for first in one NCAA outdoor high jump and scored in another. Won three Big Ten high jump events. Won one state high school track meet high jump. Set four outdoor Ohio college records and two indoor Ohio college records.
