Fred Durkle (Ed Barker Award - 1993)
Fred Durkle

Fred Durkle was a successful athlete and coach at West Alexandria Lanier Township High School. He also coached at Lewisburg High School. He has managed many important meets and helped develop many important improvements in track and field as a meet administrator.

Ron Addison (1993)
Ron Addison

Ron Addison ran distance races for Cleveland Rhodes High School and the University of Tennessee. Ron won the state cross country meet and two events in the state high school track meet. He set the state record in the mile. He was a member of the national junior team twice, and he was a member of the national senior team in 1977. He was on two NCAA championship teams while at the UNiversity of Tennessee. He was the Southestern Conference MVP in 1975. He was first in the Pacific Conference Games and third in the World University Games in the 3000 meter steeplechase. His best world ranking was 7th in the 3000 meter steeplechase in 1977.

Bill Beaty (1993)
Bill Beaty

Bill Beaty ran distance events for Lancaster High School and the University of Cincinnati. He won two State High School Cross Country meets and one event in the State High School Track Meet. Bill set two state records in high school and placed 38th in the national AAU Cross Country Meet while still in high school.

Herb Hartman (1993)
Herb Hartman

Herb Hartman was the boys track coach at Troy High School from 1968 through 1989. He has been the girls track coach from 1989 to the present. Hartman was the boys cross country coach at Troy from 1973 through 1976. His teams won five conference track championships. He was president of OAT&CCC and served in other officer positions. He was OAT&CCC Annual Track & Field Clinic Director for 12 years. Hartman was the Head Ohio Coach at the Midwest Meet of Champions in 1978 and 1979. He has been the State Cross Country Meet Manager since 1985 to the present.

Dan Oliver (1993)
Dan Oliver

Dan Oliver hurdled for Wooster Triway Township High School and Ohio State University. Dan won four events in the State High School Track Meet and set eight high school records. He won the 120 High Hurdles in the Golden West National High School Meet. He won three Big Ten events. He was second in the NCAA high hurdles. Oliver set 14 Ohio collegiate records. He ran on a world record setting shuttle hudle relay team.

Robert Reall (1993)
Robert Reall

Bob Reall was the boys cross country coach at Lancaster high school from 1962 through 1991. He was the boys cross country coach at Columbus Whestone in 1961 and the boys track coach at Columbus Eastmoor High School in 1963. Bob's cross countrty teams won two state cross country meets, 13 district/regional meets, and 15 conference meets. He coached five individual state cross country meet winners. Reall was named State Cross Country Career Coach of the Year in 1984.

Steve Spencer (1993)
Steve Spencer

Steve Spencer has been the cross country coach at Cincinnati Elder High School since 1976 to thr present and track coach since 1977 to the present. His cross country teams have won four State Meets and have beem runnerup three times. Spencer has won eight District/Regional Cross Country meets. He has won 13 cross country and seven track conference meets. He was named Boys Cross Country Career Coach of the Year in 1985.

Jon Thomas (1993)
Jon Thomas

Jon Thomas ran and hurdles for Zanesville High School and Indiana University. Jon won three hurdle events in the State High School Track & Field Meet. Jon won seven Big Ten events and scored three times in the NCAA outdoor 400 hurdles and once in the National TAC Championships.

Pat Wagner (1993)
Pat Wagner

Pat Wagner has been the girls cross country coach at Findlay Liberty Benton High School since 1983 to the present. He was boys cross country coach from 1983 through 1988. He has been the girls track coach since 1982 to the present. Wagner was boys track coach at Berne Union in 1977, 1978, and 1979, boys track coach at Thornville Sheriden in 1976, and at Spencerville from 1972 through 1975. He has won three State Cross Country Meets and was runnerup twice. He has won five District/regional Cross Country Meet winners and four State Track Meet winners. He was named State Cross Country Career of the Year in 1988 and State Track Career Coach of the Year in 1991. Wagner served as Ohio Head Coach for the Girls at the 1992 Mideast Cross Country Classic in Kettering.
