Midwest Meet of Champions

The Ohio Track and Cross Country Coaches Association will be traveling to Jackson, Michigan for the 2008 Midwest Meet of Champions the weekend following the OHSAA State Championships. This competition is open to graduating seniors from Ohio who have excelled in the sport of Track and Field. Ohio's team coordinator is Dave Pavlansky from Youngstown Boardman. The boys team head coach is Claude Holland of Cleveland Heights and the girls team head coach is Eileen Grosse of Wilmington High School.

Team Ohio will be leaving for the Midwest Meet of Champions Friday morning at 10:00 AM and will be traveling to Jackson, Michigan. Team Ohio will compete against the Michigan and Indiana all-stars on Saturday at the Jackson High School facilities. The selection process for Team Ohio is completed and the team roster will be posted below. Team Ohio will meet at the Jesse Owens memorial sculpture (see photo) in front of Ohio Stadium. Coaches and athletes will attend a banquet with Team Indiana and Team Michigan Friday evening. The Parade of Champions begins at 11:30 AM Saturday morning, followed by field events at noon and running events at 1:00 PM.
